Kitchenara is a food delivery and culinary community app that integrates AI-driven food recommendations with engaging TikTok-style videos to showcase diverse cuisines. The platform empowers both: food lovers and content creators and offers a dynamic space where users can discover new dishes, explore trending recipes, and order directly from local restaurants featured in the video content, while content creators earn affiliate commissions from the same content.

That’s why, our client wanted to take the online food ordering experience to the next level – and one way to do so was to eliminate the juggle between different interfaces. So he came up with the idea of launching one app where users could discover food through bite-sized content and order then and there. This is the major USP of the application, and its primary goal is to become a one-stop solution for all-things-food: discovery, delivery, and dirhams – for food lovers and creators.
Building an app like Kitchenara presented several challenges.
- Firstly, integrating AI-driven content recommendation algorithms required extensive research and development to ensure accurate and personalized suggestions for users.
- Secondly, creating a user-friendly interface for a more consistent experience that combined video content with traditional restaurant menus was a new idea and required a strong validation for UI/UX design.
- Third challenge was the architecture capacity of the application – a platform dedicated to video-led food discovery and delivery required solid storage and hosting.
- Content moderation, genuineness and payment security are also inherent issues that stem from building a genuine community. While these issues had to be considered pre-design and development, there were other challenges like training the AI-based recommendation engine for food discovery.
Considering the juggle between interfaces and separate apps, client’s vision to unify food experience and utilization of video content for decision-making, Techlancers Middle East recommended we build a super application in the food delivery domain, which is 3X better in experience and 100% more relevant than other food delivery platforms.
