Users interact with thousands of average and melodious to ear-deafening sounds throughout the day – but then there are days when they hear that one song and when they are home, it’s all gone. What remains is the memory of the song, along with the extreme curiosity to find out the track. The client built Faucet Sounds just to satisfy this curiosity of music enthusiasts who love exploring new music.
Utilizing AI-based voice recognition models alongside a massive music database presents an inherent challenge – the challenge of accuracy. When users look for song tracks, they want to find the right one – not the closest or second closest possible. Both of these tools that are the primary requirements of the architecture of such an app are super expansive to build – they need hefty budgets and substantial time to train. If we use proprietary databases, they are expensive as well. Another challenge with this kind of app is to keep the database updated. Logically, users would look for latest songs than old ones to ‘explore’ and that’s where the accuracy, recent updates and recognition all come into play together.

At Techlancers Middle East, all of our app development projects start with thorough market research and competitor analysis. After that, we divided discovery to maintenance KPIs into sprints. Here is an insider look of how the development team works on sprints.
We started with researching the target audience in the demographics, their age group, and the music discovery requirements of the audience.
We created a user-friendly interface and designed the interaction flow for audio input and song identification.
While coding the frontend and backend, we integrated voice recognition technology, set up the music database and implemented the Spotify integration.
We tested the app for functionality, performance, identification accuracy, security and device compatibility and post-identification playlist creation.
We launched the app on Google Play and App Store and started with post-launch marketing campaigns.
We thoroughly tested and supported the users with technical side, provided ongoing maintenance, recorded error logs and fixed areas based on early user feedback.
